Since 1994 I have been working with the idea of combining computer photographic technology with the skills and experience of traditional art mediums. Integrating a graphic design/ illustration career and a fine art degree with digital technology, I have discovered a passion for photography with an eye for bold images in natural environments. The result captures the spirit of the image with excellence in photographic production.
In the Fall of 1999, before local political unrest, I was able to trek to a remote area of Nepal, the Inner Dolpo on the Tibetan plateau, and photograph a dramatic, austere landscape with a culture that could be described as contemporary medieval. Dolpo, a pristine land inhabited by some of Asia's most culturally intact Buddhists, was opened to trekking in 1990. This series of photographs captures moments from this challenging and breath-taking trip.
